Awareness sessions and self defence training
In order to enhance individual’s confidence on self, it is critical to engage communities in improving their capacity to defend themselves. It is pre-eminent to aware the communities to eradicate taboos and generate a sense of responsibility and commitment towards fellow members of the society. With this agenda, OYSS Women and the subsidiary bodies have organized over 4,000 awareness sessions on women rights, women health, education and a range of topics which concerns each one of us. OYSS Women has collaborated with knowledge partners, government bodies and civil society organizations to undertake these activities.
Furthermore, OYSS Women has undertaken self defence training programmes with government schools and community centres to engage the youth in proactive manner. This also involves engaging a slew of government bodies and institutions to advocate for incorporating self defence training as a mandatory module.
